Ever think of electricity as just hiding inside the walls and itching to get out?. When you get a shock, that's just the electricity reaching out to say hello. I can't say I've ever had such thoughts, or at least I wouldn't admit to them. If you haven't you can pat yourself on the back and say that you do in fact think like a normal person. It's a big relief coming to that realization.
The reality is that I have a bunch of spare arms lying around that I use for my photography once in a while. I would highly recommend not doing the same thing I do, even if it sounds fun.
