Putting one of these on the counter of your store is a quick and easy way to make parents who come in with their children become the most annoying customers. That trick also works on me. There's something really satisfying about tapping them and getting that dinging sound. It's instant gratification.The only way I can think of to improve the experience would be to use a hammer.
Asking the owner of this store for permission to use her bell for a photo might also theoretically be annoying. I can't say for certain, but I have a hunch that might be the case.
